Catching up with Old Friends

I talked to an old friend of mine that I used to work with 20 years ago. I was so pleased to hear from her. She lives in Florida and enjoys being retired. It’s always nice to hear from old friends. My friend’s name is Jodi and she just has so much style. If she ever found a dress or a blouse or even a belt that she loved she would buy one in every single color. Amazing! Sometimes I miss working but I know I can’t be a waitress anymore. 31 years was enough, I’m burned out! People don’t realize how hard a waitress or a waiter works, they never stop from  the time they get on the floor till they leave. Come to think of it I don’t miss the work I just miss my friends!

  1. Jodi sounds like a smart cookie — I can’t count the times I wish I had bought things I liked that way!
Waitressing is a job for people with a wonderful personality, a lot of stamina and thick skin — I really do admire those who do it well. My friend actually made good money doing it, but sometimes it was grueling, and she had to put up with a lot.
I know it must have been such a treat to get back in touch with your friend — now if you want to visit Florida you’ll know where to visit first!

  2. I think everyone should have to work in retail or food service for at least six months. It makes you appreciate what a hard and skillful job serving others is. I learned so much in my ten years as a waitress!
